Overview & Essential Job Functions
Position Summary:
We are looking for a talented, dedicated and forward-thinking Facility Engineer to provide assistance in the improvement of processing and manufacturing facilities! The Facility Engineer will use their skill set to assess a facility's resource requirements, designing and optimizing the facility's layout and critical operational systems, and suggest maintenance improvements of infrastructure and equipment. The Facility Engineer will use their analytical skill set and quantitative knowledge base to assess, communicate and improve upon operational processes. Projects will span across multiple departments to bridge functional silos and disciplines including but not limited to product improvement, operational efficiencies, engineering opportunities, and financial analysis in order to maximize profitability.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide direction to shift managers and supervisors to ensure quality products and adherence to productivity goals and cost standards, including those associated with quality, productivity, budget and cost control, and other key performance indicators.
Conduct ongoing review of process efficiencies to identify and correct issues that negatively impact costs, delivery schedule, order fill rate or the ability to meet customer demands.
Directs appropriate resolution to assure the timely completion of scheduled initiatives.
Drives efforts to maximize efficiencies and continuous improvement processes in all areas of the plant operations as a member of the management team and actively seeks opportunities for innovation of processes.
Establishes performance objectives, and provides formal and informal support and coaching to improve performance or generate opportunities for further growth and development.
Provides regular written reports, as well as other operations-related results and updates to the management team as needed.
Completes all other projects as assigned by the Director of Resource Recovery.
Develop and implement processing plans, perform system evaluations, and establish operational efficiency.
Works with project team members to implement new/retrofit processing infrastructure, including the preparation of Feasibility Studies, Technology Assessments, Constructability Reviews, and Performance Evaluations.
Design and oversee the implementation of facility expansion, layout, various systems, and quality controls.
Determining facility and equipment specifications.

Evaluate operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies.
Develop processing plans and optimizing resource allocation as well as process improvements.
Coordinate and oversee contractors performing upgrade activities.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
Prepare reports
Provides integral quality assurance guidance and technical direction on the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Assurance program at the Material Recovery Facility (MRF).
Collaborates and communicates interdepartmentally via analytically driven insights.
Manages and researches vendors and negotiates contracts.
Provide analytic support via hands-on Excel work while leveraging other tools as necessary (SQL, SoftPac, and SAAS solutions).
Provides project management to ensure sound execution of short term and long-term initiatives, which includes analyzing project costs and preparing budgets, scheduling and critical path planning
Develops, configures and optimizes industrial processes from inception through the start-up and certification.
Assesses processes, takes measurements and interprets data.
Designs, runs, tests and upgrades systems and processes.
Develops best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
Manages cost and time constraints.
Provides process documentation and operating instructions.
Qualifications & Environmental Demands
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
5 years of experience in an analytical role such as strategy consulting, or manufacturing, or MRF operations.
Deep knowledge of excel and modeling methodologies.
Experience with AutoCAD and MS Office,
Exceptional problem solving skills and strategic business judgment.
Strong project management skills with track record of delivering projects on time with great outcomes.
Strong interpersonal collaboration skills resulting in positive working relationships.
Ability to interact with both executive management and front-line employees.
Ability to act with limited oversight on day-to-day basis. This role is intended for somebody with initiative and a deep sense of ownership that takes responsibility for shaping and executing upon our strategy and operations.

Master's Degree.
