Domestic / International Payments SWIFT Business Analyst

Profile

We are looking for an Domestic / International Payments SWIFT Business Analyst to join our team.

The successful candidate will be a functional and systems analyst with experience in implementing international, high value funds transfer solutions used by banks to process payments for retail, corporate and correspondent banking relationships. Candidate should understand wire payment systems within the context of banking and treasury management services from both functional and technical perspectives. The candidate will have understanding of the SWIFT network and settlement processes required to transact globally. Good program and project management skills and/or experience with similar projects are a plus.

Work Responsibilities

Will provide market expertise on SWIFT workflows, message utilization and market practice

The analyst/s will meet with key Fortress stakeholder to review and document the Fortress wire transfer operations and business workflows. This will include identification and analysis of Fortress’s correspondent banks, networks and interfaces leveraged, identifying who the participants are, and the automation being leveraged.

Will review the overall strategy and specific project requirements including collection of information about all the relevant products, functions, processes, organizations and services covered by the wire transfer operation.

Provide an overview of the market landscape of Correspondent Banking

Educate Fortress’ staff on best market practice for wire transfer processing

Provide payment initiation methods to reduce downstream wire transfer processing fees and lifting fees

Review Outbound SWIFT payment instructions and identify any anomalies to increase straight through processing

Look up and identify Fortress’ correspondent banks relationships and the underling beneficiary bank information. Instruction on how to use reference data to help create wire transfer, improve STP and increase timeliness of payments.

Required skills and experience

Solid understanding of Swift messaging/payments Standards

Wire payments (AKA FED, AKA CHIPS)

FundTech / Service Bureaus

Experience of working with executive stakeholders

Understanding Treasury Operations

Optional Skills

Analyzing, setting up and administering Swift Networks, RMAs etc
