Business systems analysts live in a dusky belt that is caught between two very well-structured and separated sections - the technology sector and the business sector. They should have team spirit, communication, and problem solving skills to work with techs, end users, and the business department. He should be comfortable with tools like TOAD, Hyperion, and others.

Experience is of high value in this field. An experienced business analyst with the needed qualifications and skill-set has a good chance of being promoted as senior business analyst or manager for information systems or even CTO. These days most of the business analysts with good qualifications, expertise and experience find very rewarding jobs in the capacity of independent consultants.
